Mental fitness programme helps Rugby League fans to 'offload'

In England's northeast, a 'mental fitness' programme is harnessing the feelings of community amongst Rugby League fans and the language of sport to encourage men to talk about mental health issues. Male suicide is the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45 in the UK, and when Rugby League international Terry Newton committed suicide in 2010, a group of rugby-loving mental health practitioners launched an initiative to embolden men to seek help.
