Black-ish Creator's New Shows Lands At NBC

The Kenya Barris-produced comedy “Bright Futures” has moved over from ABC to NBC, where it has been picked up to pilot.
Titled “Bright Futures,” the pilot follows a group of friends as they stumble through the transition from the clueless, immature twentysomethings they are now, to the successful professionals they’re destined to be.
The single-camera comedy is written by “Grown-ish” alum Hale Rothstein and the duo of Danny Segal and Isaac Schamis. Rothstein will executive produce alongside Barris, and Segal and Schamis will serve as co-executive producers.
“Bright Futures” hails from ABC Studios, where Barris recently re-upped his overall deal for another four years. The project had previously been in development at ABC, but was not picked up to pilot by the network.
