Virgin Atlantic marked Valentine’s Day in a way that only an airline can.

Virgin Atlantic marked Valentine's Day in a way that only an airline can. It sent an Airbus A330 along a heart-shaped route, notes Business Insider. The heart in the sky was made just off the southwestern coast of England.  "We had a training flight planned for February 14th, and when we realised it was Valentine's Day we decided to have a little fun," Captain JJ Burrows, Virgin Atlantic's director of aircraft operations, said in a statement. While many have expressed awe and appreciation over the gesture, some voiced concerns about the possible use of excess fuel and reckless contributions to global warming.  Virgin CEO Richard Branson addressed those concerns in a tweet, noting that the plane was going out anyway and the flight path was only altered "slightly."
