Dr Rita Bakshi, a senior IVF specialist in India, tells us why infertility diagnosis for every couple trying to conceive. An infertility diagnosis includes a simple male partner semen sample and the couple is advised to abstain from intercourse for 3-5 days prior to semen collection day. Female partners are examined for antral follicle count and egg reserve. At International Fertility Centre, we encourage women for serum AMH test, which is usually not done in other clinics. Serum anti-mullerian hormone test is done to describe the number of good quality eggs left within a woman's ovaries. Hence, a complete infertility diagnosis include semen sample test, antral follicle count, serum AMH test and a good ultrasound.
