A United Airlines engine failed over the Pacific Ocean on 13 February, during a flight from San Francisco to Honolulu. The flight landed safely at Honolulu's Daniel K. Inouye International Airport. Concerned passengers posted photos and videos to social media showing the engine appearing to break apart.
