India registered their first-ever series victory in South Africa with a 73-run win over the Proteas in the fifth ODI of the six-match series at St George's Park. India had won the first three ODIs in remarkable fashion but South Africa fought back in the Pink ODI to stay alive in the series. However, a century from Rohit Sharma and a four-wicket haul from Kuldeep Yadav meant India wrapped up the series with still an ODI left to be played. Virat Kohli has managed to do what no other Indian captain could and India have finally won a series on South African shores. Ahead of the 2019 World Cup, India would consider it a good victory, a morale boost and a series that gives them a lot of learn. Dropped catches, shaky fielding at times in the series would give India plenty to think about and work on.
