On the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivratri, scores of devotees thronged Varanasi’s Ganga ghats to take the holy dip and offer prayers. Devotees in thousands lined up to get a glimpse of Shivling and seek his blessings on Mahashivratri. While Shivratri comes once every month, Mahashivratri also known as ‘great night of lord Shiva’ comes once in a year, just before the arrival of Spring season in the month of February or March.

महाशिवरात्रि पर देशभर में शिव के भक्त पूजा- पाठ कर रहे हैं.. शिव की नगरी वाराणसी में भी काफी लोग गंगा स्नान करते दिखे तो वहीं काशी विश्वनाथ में भी पूजा करने के लिए अच्छी- खासी भीड़ दिखी... काशी- विश्वनाथ में शिवरात्री के दौरान कड़ी सुरक्षा व्यवस्था है..
