Chinese New Year celebrations kicked off in Perth, Scotland, on February 10 to mark the year of the dog.

Onlookers enjoyed displays by Yee's Hung Ga International Kung Fu Association from Edinburgh, which provided drummers, costumed characters, dancing lions, a dragon dance and fireworks at the end of the celebration.

Provost Dennis Melloy from the Perth City Council marked the dragon at the start of the celebrations.
