Ohio Officers Killed After 9-1-1 Call
Two Ohio police officers were killed in a shooting Saturday afternoon in a Columbus suburb. Someone called 911 from an address in Westerville around noon then hung up. Police chief Joe Morbitzer says officers Anthony Morelli and Eric Joering were "immediately met with gunfire" when they went to the address to investigate. Joering was killed at the scene, and Morelli later died at the hospital. The suspect was taken into custody, and an investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
