This is the amusing moment a little girl plots to sell her brother to the pet store so she can buy an owl toy.

The footage, captured in Tolland County, shows the youngster with her dad watching her sibling playing in the snow.

'How did your brother get so silly?' says the father.

To which the girl, called Rachel, replies: 'I don't know, I think we should sell him.

The father can be heard laughing in the background before digging deeper into the girl's plans.

Rachel then explains why they should sell her brother, saying: "Something in him is wrong."

'One dollar or two dollars or three?' she says about a possible price. She later brings up $54.

'I really really wanted a toy owl, so that's what I'm going to spend it on,' she explains.

The dad then announces the plan to Rachel's brother: ''Jason, we're going to go sell you to the pet store."

But Rachel takes on negotiations: ''Don't worry Jason, we'll get you back.''

The dad says Jason was ok with the plan.

Rachel's dad writes: ''I took my kids sledding at a local school in our hometown.

''The building across the field makes a really clear echo when you make noise but Rachel wasn't aware of this.

''She saw her brother screaming at the ground and told me that something was wrong with her brother and that we should sell him.

''Rachel eventually got a toy owl by the way.''
