The South Korean government is advising Korean nationals to avoid visiting the Maldives due to the deepening political instability on the islands.
The Foreign Ministry says the South Korean embassy in Sri Lanka-- that handles consular services for Koreans visiting the country,... has called on South Koreans living in the Maldives to take extra caution, following the local government's declaration of a state of emergency earlier this week.
The ministry also relayed the message to Koreans traveling to the Maldives to avoid visiting the country's capital (Ma-lay) Male,... saying safety alerts have also been issued through diplomatic missions and on social media.
