Falcon Heavy Launches on First Test Flight, Sending a Tesla to Mars!
Many years in the making SpaceX has done it! They have successfully launched their brand new rocket the Falcon Heavy today, February 6th 2018 at 20:45 UTC from the famous Kennedy Space Center's Launch Pad 39A.

The Falcon Heavy is the most powerful rocket currently operational.. by a factor of 2! The Falcon Heavy has the capacity to launch nearly 64 metric tonnes into orbit, more than a Boeing 737 fully fuelled and loaded with passengers and cargo.

This Falcon Heavy was a test flight and carried a very special payload, Elon Musk's own red Tesla Roadster. The car will go beyond Earth's atmosphere on a trip flying by Mars, onboard for the ride a very special dummy in a spacesuit.

The two boosters are re-used cores and successfully landed at Landing Zone 1 and 2 at Cape Canaveral. The center core, a brand new booster, landed on the Of Course I Still Love You out in the Atlantic ocean - the outcome of this is yet known.
