Lawmakers to clash over economic policies in gov't Q&A
  • 6 years ago
The National Assembly this afternoon will start the second day of its interpellation session,... questioning top government officials... this time on the economy.
The opposition bloc is not happy with a number of policies implemented by the government, claming they've led to confusion and a social uproar.
They say housing prices continue to surge despite measures meant to cool down the market,... and that a recent minimum wage hike has caused job losses because small businesses can no longer afford to pay as many people.
The government has also moved in recent weeks to regulate cryptocurrencies... in a way the opposition says has caused prices to fluctuate wildly.
The ruling party and government will be defending their record on those and other matters.
