World's Tallest Man and World's Shortest Woman Meet in Egypt Sultan Kosen, 35, and Jyoti Amge, 24, visited the Giza pyramids as part of a campaign by the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and the Guinness Book of World Records. Kosen, who is of Kurdish origin, is 8 feet 3 inches tall. He suffers from acromegaly, a rare condition caused by excessive secretion of growth hormone that results from a tumor on the pituitary gland. Amge, meanwhile, stands at 24.7 inches tall, and was declared the world's shortest woman in 2011 after her 18th birthday.
