White House chief of staff John Kelly shared his reaction to the California teacher who reportedly went on an anti-military tirade during one of his classes. "I think the guy ought to go to hell. I just hope he enjoys the liberties and the lifestyle that we have fought for," Kelly said in a Wednesday interview on Fox News Radio.
The outburst of Gregory Salcido, the El Rancho High School teacher in question, was filmed by a student and posted to the Internet, according to KNBC.
The Washington Post notes that in an apparent effort to dissuade students for working with military recruiters on campus and joining the military at large, Salcido refers to members of the U.S. armed forces as inept and the "lowest of the low."
"I don't understand why we let the freakin' military guys come over here and recruit you at school," he also commented. "They're not like high-level thinkers, they're not academic people, they're not intellectual people."
Salcido has since been placed on administrative leave, reports the Washington Examiner.
