Canadian Researchers Use Heat from Bitcoin Mining to Grow Crops

One software company from Manitoba, Canada called the Myera Group has found a novel way to transform the extra heat generated from cryptocurrency mining into a way to provide heat for greenhouses and fisheries in the cold Canadian winter. The heat generated from over 100 Bitcoin mining computers is used to provide heat for the 20,000 square foot warehouse and grow plants and sustain fish tanks. The Myera Group started off as a software development company focused on mining Bitcoins, but decided to expand their business by harnessing the excess heat from the data centres and servers and using it for agricultural purposes.
