Spectators at a high school basketball game on January 24 got more than they bargained for when they witnessed a referee pop the question to his long-time girlfriend.Fans were gathered at St Mary’s High School’s Morelli Gym in Stockton, California, ready to watch the Lady Rams take on their rivals from Lincoln High School.However, the start of the game was put on hold when the game’s referee, Pete Campbell, decided to propose to his girlfriend and fellow referee, Mackenzie Hill.Walking onto the court, Campbell engaged his now-fiancee in conversation, which was drowned out by the crowd’s cheers.
