Auschwitz survivor Leon Schwarzbaum says, "Only the dead can forgive, and they can no longer speak." Today, at the age of 97, Schwarzbaum continues to speak out about the atrocities that took place at Auschwitz. He goes to schools and appears at public events, and describes what life was like there. In the DW Interview, Schwarzbaum says he does this because "I owe it to the dead."
