ATM Producers Warn Of 'Jackpotting' Threat To U.S. Machines

Two of the world's largest ATM makers, Diebold Nixdorf and NCR Corp, have warned that hackers are targeting US cash machines with a scheme known as 'jackpotting." The scheme has been rising worldwide in recent years, however the exact amount of cash stolen stolen remains unclear as victims and police often do not disclose details. NCR said in a Friday alert, “This should be treated by all ATM deployers as a call to action to take appropriate steps to protect their ATMs against these forms of attack."
