Czech Presidency Goes To Pro-Russia Incumbent

Czech President Milos Zeman won a second term in office on Saturday. He is a vocal opponent of immigration who favors closer ties with Russia.
the Czech Press Agency reported that Zeman took more than 51% of the vote to defeat challenger Jiri Drahos in the runoff.
73-year-old Zeman has spoken out against the European Union, Islam and immigrants. The election was seen as an indicator of whether populist movements are gaining strength in Europe.
