British Columbia resident Nigel Beaupre captured GoPro video of himself rescuing a friend who was buried under a snowbank in Whistler on January 21.In the footage, Beaupre and a fellow snowboarder, Jordan O’Connell, jump off a ridge. Beaupre lands safely, but after attempting the same jump, O’Connell is buried under a snowbank after landing. Beaupre quickly goes to dig his friend out.“It’s not every day you have to dig your friend out of the snow to save his life,” Beaupre said in the post accompanying the footage. “It just goes to show how quick things go from having a great time to a near-tragic experience.”Thanks to Beaupre’s assistance, O’Connell did not suffer any major injuries.
