Myanmar Says Richardson Dropped From Advisory Panel

Bill Richardson a Veteran U.S diplomat, was asked to step down from Myanmar’s international advisory board on the Rohingya crisis, said a statement from the Myanmar government on Thursday. Richardson said in an interview with Reuters that he was resigning because the board was conducting a “whitewash” and he accused Aung San Suu Kyi of lacking “moral leadership.” Suu Kyi’s statement said that Richardson’s intent was not to provide advice “but to pursue his own agenda.
