U.S. Senator From Hawaii Says States Should Not Send Missile Alerts

On Thursday, U.S. Senator Brian Schatz of Hawaii said that state and local governments should be prevented from sending missile alerts, like one that was sent out in his state this month. At a Senate Commerce Committe hearing, Schatz said he was introducing legislation that would clarify that only the federal government could send nuclear alerts.
