According to the Korean Herald, South Korea has opened an investigation into Apple's throttling of its older iPhones, despite the company's claims that the slowdowns were meant to maintain battery life. Apple already faces several lawsuits and may even be facing criminal charges in some jurisdictions. As a gesture of good will, Apple has decided to offer owners of iPhone 6 and later models a battery replacement for $29, a limited-time $50 discount.
