But seven-time Grand Slam winner Venus Williams didn't seem to be letting the loss get her down, with the sports star spotted on holiday with her younger boyfriend.
The 37-year-old flew out from Melbourne to idyllic Hamilton Island on Saturday to enjoy some downtime with her new beau, the wealthy and muscular 25-year-old, Nicholas Hammond.
