Storm Rages Near Quillayute River as Coastal Warning Issued for Pacific Coast

An off-shore storm in the Pacific caused flooding and damage to coastal towns across Washington and Oregon on Thursday, January 18.These videos from the US Coast Guard Station at Quillayute River show the ocean swell near the mouth of the Quillayute River in the village of La Push, Washington. In one video, a large amount of ocean foam can be seen washed up on the shore, while dark clouds can be seen looming overhead.The Quillayute River entrance was closed to all vessel traffic on Thursday, according to Seattle’s KUOW Radio.The National Weather Service in Seattle issued a flood watch for the Washington coast on January 18, according to local news reports.
