Australia's new rescue drone proved its worth on its first day in Lennox Head, saving two teens who had gotten caught up in rough waters, notes ABC News. Beach personnel on the New South Wales north coast were preparing to undergo a drone training session when an emergency alert came in.  Jai Sheridan, the group's supervisor, piloted the craft over the waters and to the boys' location.  It dropped a flotation devices, and the teenagers were able to get themselves back to shore unharmed. "I was able to launch it, fly it to the location, and drop the pod all in about one to two minutes," Sheridan told the Sydney Morning Herald. "On a normal day that would have taken our lifeguards a few minutes longer to reach the members of the public."
