MOUNTAIN VIEW, CALIFORNIA — Google is planning on laying three new underwater cables in 2019 to help expand its cloud business.
The company announced its new routes in a blog post on Tuesday, CNBC reported.

The first will run from Los Angeles to Chile, the second will link the U.S. to Denmark and Ireland, and the third will connect Hong Kong and Guam.

The cables are set to be ready by 2019. The cable from L.A. to Chile will allow Google to provide better cloud services to users across Latin America.

The cable running from the U.S. to Denmark and Ireland will boost capacity for North Atlantic users.

The Hong Kong-Guam cable will help Google reach customers in the Pacific region and Australia.

Google now has investments in 11 cables that are planned or under construction, CNBC reported.
