For its 40th edition, the 10th to be held in South America, the Dakar rally is revisiting the Pacific Ocean and the dunes of Peru, which drivers and riders will tackle after a few days sampling the delights of the capital, Lima. Competitors will then head through to Bolivia, for a welcome rest day in the festive atmosphere of La Paz. Argentinian aficionados top the podium when it comes to enthusiasm and good humour, and the most joyous of them will be waiting to acclaim the riders in Córdoba, host to the Dakar finish line for the first time.

Pour sa 40e édition, qui sera également la 10e sur le continent sud-américain, le Dakar retrouve l’Océan Pacifique et surtout les dunes du Pérou, que les pilotes affronteront après avoir profité pendant quelques jours de la capitale Lima. La sélection se poursuivra en Bolivie, où la journée de repos sera observée dans une ambiance survoltée à La Paz. En termes d’enthousiasme et de bonne humeur, les aficionados argentins rivalisent parfaitement, en particulier ceux de Córdoba, où sera pour la première fois jugée l’arrivée finale du Dakar.

Para su 40ª edición, que será también la 10a en el continente sudamericano, el Dakar vuelve a encontrarse con el Océano Pacífico y, sobre todo, con las dunas de Perú, que los pilotos afrontarán después de haber disfrutado durante algunos días de la capital, Lima. La selección continuará en Bolivia, donde tendrá lugar la jornada de descanso en el fantástico ambiente de La Paz. Pero en entusiasmo y buen humor, pocos les ganan a los argentinos, en especial a los oriundos de Córdoba, donde por primera vez se celebrará la llegada final del Dakar.
