Speh-chal-reh-quhesssstttttt is back on remix duties. This time Paul Woolford's junglist alter ego is putting a breakbeat-led spin on the legendary Nightmares On Wax.
His rework of 'Aftermath' is loaded with snarling valve bass bumps, psychedelic vocal snips that fly around the mix and that signature, oh-so-rolling drum programming. You know the drill by now. This is the kind of thing you want to hear in the dead of night while having it hard somewhere dark and loud.
The remix has been commissioned for the box set edition of 'Now Is The Time', the compilation celebrating 25 years of Nightmares On Wax as well as 25 years of the record label it's coming out on, Warp.
The box set features a slew of stellar remixes, one of which is the Special Request effort. Listen to the first play of it here.
Nightmares On Wax will be playing a Rough Trade East Instore on June 12 from 19:00.
