Twitter Considering to Increase Character Limit to as High as 10,000 - Report

Social networking website Twitter is planning to increase the maximum length of tweets by the end of the first quarter, and is experimenting with character limits as high as 10,000, Re/code reports. The report, citing multiple sources familiar with the company’s plans, said it was testing a version of the product in which tweets appear the same way as they do currently, displaying only 140 characters, but with a button that would allow users to expand. The point of such an expand function would be to keep Twitter’s look and feel the same as it has been since the website launched in 2006. The sources told the website that the plans are not final and could change before the final product rolls out.
