Emergency services are waiting for Air Canada Flight 88 to land at Calgary International Airport after severe turbulence hit the aircraft, injuring as many as 20 passengers, officials say. (more)
A spokesperson for the Calgary Fire Department said three trucks were sent to the airport to deal with the incident, saying as many as 20 patients were expected. There was no immediate word on the seriousness of the injuries. The Air Canada flight was expected to land just after 3:15 p.m. local time.
Air Canada Flight 88 was flying from Shanghai to Toronto and was diverted to Calgary after being hit by severe turbulence.
