The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) in Queensland, Australia is investigating how a dead koala ended up screwed to a building post and whether it was already deceased when the atrocity occurred, reports the BBC. The animal was found at a park north of Brisbane and, at first glance, was believed to be alive, well, and just hanging out.  Closer inspection revealed the koala was deceased, covered in blood, and appeared to have suffered head trauma.  There was also a tied bunch of leaves hanging near the posed carcass. "It's just sick, it makes me want to throw up," Murray Chambers, a member of Koala Rescue Queensland, said to the BBC. "I've been doing this job for 10 years and I've never seen anything like it."
