In another case of alleged apathy by a private hospital, a pregnant woman died in a Faridabad private hospital and her family was charged Rs. 18 lakh. The woman’s relative alleged that doctors showed carelessness and extorted money from the family threatening to stop her treatment mid-way. She was normal when admitted to hospital, he added. The Chairman of the hospital said the condition of the pregnant lady was critical and she was suspected with Typhoid. Her condition improved but was again shifted to ICU later, he added. He further said that during the time of delivery, her condition worsened and her small intestine burst due to complications of Typhoid.
