The Trump administration has directed NASA to put American boots back on the surface of Moon. But there is one problem, at this point the agency doesn't know when, how, scale of the operation and cost. The space mission to Moon happened between 1969 and 1972 and during this time NASA put 12 astronauts on the moon and only 5 of them are now alive. No human being has been beyond low Earth orbit since the end of the Apollo program. According to agency acting administrator Robert Lightfoot they will partner will other countries to return back to Moon and that the whole operation will be public-private partnership.
