Lights On A Plane Explained Simply - DriveSpark
  • 6 years ago
Do you know the function of the lights on an aeroplane? Have you ever thought that the lights on a plane had some purpose, other than visibility?

Position lights - red, green, and white lights are placed on the left wing, right wing and the tail, respectively.

Strobe lights are bright, flashers on the edge of the wings. They aid the airplane's visibility at night and are the brightest lights on an airplane.

The rotating beacon is a flashing red light on the aircraft, turned ON to indicate that the engine is running.

Landing lights are bright and steady white lights pointed downwards, to illuminate the runway while landing.
