Trump Supporter Joe Arpaio Enters Arizona Senate Race Arpaio announced Monday that we would be filing the necessary paperwork to run in Arizona's late-August Republican primary. I'm going to have to work hard; you don't take anything for granted. But I would not being doing this if I thought that I could not win. I'm not here to get my name in the paper, I get that every day, anyway. Arpaio, who's a big supporter of President Trump, was pardoned by the latter in August after he was convicted for racially profiling Latinos. NBC News reports that Arpaio didn't inform Trump of his decision to run. Arpaio, 85, is running for the seat being vacated by Sen. Jeff Flake, who announced in October he would not run for re-election.
