Ridley Scott Says Kevin Spacey Never Called Him

But director Ridley Scott gave a little insight in his decision.

Keep in mind, Kevin’s downfall came about six weeks or so until the movie opened worldwide and all that was left was the finalize the music.

But Ridley revealed that he was stunned by the Spacey allegations and sat back and waited for an apologetic phone and possibly a few constructive suggestions about the film’s future.

And none ever came.

Ridley says Spacey’s silence made it all the easier to move forward without the actor and cast Christopher Plummer in the role instead.

They reshot every Spacey scene, which was tricky because they had to get all the actors back and find out which locations would be available again.

Luckily all the big actors, like Mark Wahlberg and Michelle Williams came back for free and the film was completed with barely a hiccup.

Now we’re left to wonder if Plummer will get an Oscar nomination.
