Donald Trump Jr. slammed Meryl Streep for not addressing Harvey Weinstein’s sexual misconduct allegations while urging Melania and Ivanka Trump to break their silence.

"Amazing that the only person in all of Hollywood who didn't know Weinstein was a serial assaulter (of course she did) has an opinion on this," Trump Jr. wrote in a Thursday tweet.
He is not alone in wondering why Streep hasn't spoken out against Weinstein, but his aggravation was apparently triggered by comments the actress made during a recent interview with the New York Times.
When asked for her take on why so many want to hear her speak out on the matter, Streep replied, "I don't want to hear about the silence of me. I want to hear about the silence of Melania Trump." "I want to hear from her. She has so much that's valuable to say. And so does Ivanka. I want her to speak now," Streep further noted.
In the interview, Streep stressed that she really did not know about Weinstein's behavior and offered a bit of an explanation about why she did not immediately react publicly.
"I found out about this on a Friday and went home deep into my own life. And then somebody told me that on 'Morning Joe' they were screaming that I haven't responded yet," she said. "I don't have a Twitter thing or – handle, whatever. And I don't have Facebook. I really had to think. Because it really underlined my own sense of cluelessness, and also how evil, deeply evil, and duplicitous, a person he was, yet such a champion of really great work."
