The video, filmed on January 3, shows flames and large plumes of smoke engulfing the hillside at night close to dorms belonging to Beijing Normal University Zhuhai Campus in Guangdong Province as students gather to watch.
According to reports, the blaze was caused by fireworks let off by students.
The fire was eventually extinguished and no casualties were reported.
