Federal Reserve Debates Interest Rate Hikes For 2018

The tax overhaul passed late last year by the Congress has the Federal Reserve considering a faster increase to interest rates.
According to the central banks meeting minutes, policymakers debated the affect the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act will have on consumer spending and future economic growth throughout the year.
But most of the policymakers supported continuing to gradually increase interest rates, as any fiscal stimulus must be weighted against raising price pressures on consumers.
