Larry Aaron, III played football at Marshall University in West Virginia. The 6’5, 272-pound defensive lineman is now paralyzed from the waist down after an encounter with gun violence. The 19-year old was at a New Years Eve party with his girlfriend at a house in Severn, Maryland. Someone came into the party and opened fire. Aaron used his size to shield his girlfriend. It was an act of heroism that cost him his football career and nearly cost him his life.
