Some people turn off the ignition in a traffic block, in the name of saving fuel. This is good, only if the car is absolutely still for more than at least 30 seconds.

Starting a car takes quite some more fuel than when it idling. If the car is already in operating temperatures, then the amount of fuel used for starting would be minimal.

Hence, in a traffic block, if you are constantly starting and turning off the car, your fuel usage would be more.
