In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Hoda Kotb revealed that Matt Lauer had congratulated her after it was announced that she would replace him as the “Today” show co-anchor on Tuesday. Kotb told ET that he had texted her and said congratulations along with some “really nice words.” Lauer was fired from NBC in November after a complaint of “inappropriate sexual behavior” from a colleague. A report was later released detailing Lauer’s pattern of sexual misconduct.
