You Won't Be Able to Climb Uluru Rock For Long

The Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park Board of Management voted to ban visitors climbing on their famous Uluru Rock, also known as "The Big Red Rock." The UNESCO World Heritage Site is a popular tourist destination, but is also a sacred site for Anangu Aboriginals—the custodians of the land. Out of respect for their territory, the park board has mandated that tourists will have to go around the rock starting in 2019.
