A crocodile was seen swimming at The Strand, a popular beach in Townsville. The rare sighting occurred at about 10 am on Tuesday, January 2.Uploader Cordelia Hough said she had never seen a crocodile at the beach in her two years as a local, but had heard reports of a couple of sightings annually. “It’s nice to just give people the heads up so people and dog walkers can get out of the croc’s habitat and let it move on without any incidences,” she told Storyful, after posting this footage as a warning to residents.According to news.com.au, wildlife authorities from the Department of Environment and Heritage Protection were monitoring the area following the sighting.
