While most Star Trek fans would consider "The Trouble With Tribbles" an undisputed classic of the 1960s TV show, the show's creator and at least one of its biggest stars would disagree. According to a report by Vanity Fair, creator Gene Roddenberry was not a fan of the episode, and Leonard Nimoy once described it as "frivolous." David Gerrold, who wrote the script for the episode, said, "Gene Roddenberry had no sense of humor and working with him was a joyless exercise.
