Roy Moore Alleges Voter Fraud in Alabama Election Loss The Alabama Republican filed a complaint after losing the Senate race on Dec. 12 to Democrat Doug Jones. "This is not a Republican or Democrat issue as election integrity should matter to everyone." Moore's complaint claims that out-of-state residents had been allowed to vote. Moore had lost by more than 20,000 votes in a race he had been widely expected to win. Alabama Secretary of State John Merrill is slated to certify the special election results Thursday. It is not going to delay certification and Doug Jones will be certified (Thursday) at 1 p.m. and he will be sworn in by Vice President Pence on the third of January.
