Modi government has given a shocking statement to the Supreme Court. That is about the female circumcision. A written petition has been filed to prohibit minors of minorg girls of the Dawoodi Bohra community. When the court asked for an answer from the Ministry of Women and Child Development, then there was no official figure or study to support the existence of FGM in India. The ministry has recently said in its affidavit filed in the Supreme Court, "There is currently no official figure or study (NCRB, etc.) which supports the existence of FGM in India."

केंद्र सरकार ने एक चौंकाने वाला बयान सुप्रीम कोर्ट को दिया है। जो कि महिला खतना के बारे में है । दाऊदी बोहरा समुदाय की नाबालिग लड़कियों के खतनों को प्रतिबंध करने के लिए एक लिखित याचिका दायर की गई है। जब कोर्ट ने इस पर महिला एवं बाल विकास मंत्रालय से जवाब मांगा तो उसके पास भारत में एफजीएम के अस्तित्व का समर्थन करने वाला कोई आधिकारिक आंकड़ा या अध्ययन नहीं था। मंत्रालय ने हाल ही में सुप्रीम कोर्ट में दायर अपने शपथ पत्र में कहा है कि, 'वर्तमान में कोई आधिकारिक आंकड़ा या अध्ययन (एनसीआरबी आदि) नहीं है जो भारत में एफजीएम के अस्तित्व का समर्थन करता है।'
