Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee on Tuesday compared President Trump to legendary British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, and many just aren't seeing the similarities.

"If you can get to a theater go see The Darkest Hour about Churchill. Reminds as to what real leadership looks like," Huckabee wrote on Twitter. "Churchill was hated by his own party, opposition party, and press. Feared by King as reckless, and despised for his bluntness…he didn't retreat…in @realDonaldTrump we have a Churchill."
According to the New York Times, Kristian Tonning Riise, a member of Norway's Parliament, responded, "Sure. Churchill served his country 55 years in parliament, 31 years as a minister and 9 as pm."
"He was present in 15 battles and received 14 medals of bravery. He was one of historys most gifted orators and won the Nobel Literature Prize for his writing. Totally same thing," Riise further noted.
David Frum, the senior editor for the Atlantic tweeted, "To make the analogy perfect, though, you'd have to imagine that Churchill was Hitler's preferred candidate for prime minister in 1940."
Comments from others include, "Churchill fought for freedom against tyrants. Trump gives comfort to authoritarians. Your fanboyism is absurd," and, "While in the British Army (where he actively sought to serve in war zones), Churchill gave skin from his own chest to help graft an injured officer's wound. Trump faked bone spurs."
